LCDC Seoul - Bar Postscript

In a moody bar in the Seongsu-dong neighbourhood of Seoul, Bar Postscript meets its customers with style and grace. The bar was built in 2021, blending a sleek and contemporary aesthetic with beautiful design pieces and sweeping views over the city.

A popular hangout for locals and tourists, the bar sits in a trendy pocket of Seoul, in a small factory perched aside up-scale cafés, restaurants and street fashion boutiques. The space needed to embody a comfortable yet stylish pause for its design-savvy clientele. Dark tiles and accents of matte black and leather brown are complimented by an artful selection of lighting. As the sun sets, shadows play across the room, sending splinters of light across the glass.

A myriad of Fritz Hansen pieces were selected for their high-quality craftsmanship and their ability to marry form and function. Pieces were selected in various shapes and sizes, square tables, round tables, low tables, standard chairs and lounge chairs, and bar stools of various heights.

The Swan™ chair and sofa by Arne Jacobsen are a striking highlight. The designs contain no straight lines, making them look organic and soft despite their simplicity and strong architectural appeal.

The Planner™ coffee tables sit alongside the Swan. Part of a relaunched collection by Paul McCobb, the Planner table features a structured marble surface and a powder-coated steel base – an illustration of raw, tactile simplicity.

Elsewhere, the Grand Prix™ chair and the Supercircular™ table offer a striking and timeless expression. At the bar, the Series 7™ bar stool sits pretty in black. Designed by Arne Jacobsen, the Series 7 is an icon in modern furniture history, made from 9 layers of pressure moulded veneer with chrome legs.
