The Musket Room

New York City, N.Y., USA

Comfort Food

New York City’s Michelin-starred The Musket Room restaurant is reimagined with comfortable and elegant Fritz Hansen design.

At The Musket Room, indulgence is not only applied to the menu, where head chef Mary Attea and her team serve up inventive dishes with intense flavours. In the celebrated New York restaurant, the décor too is luxuriant, albeit a dash more modest than its bold culinary offering. Here, Fritz Hansen designs create a sophisticated space, inside and out, underpinning the restaurant’s global roots and warm and welcoming atmosphere.

In the private garden, the Plank™ and Banco™ benches in FSC™-certified teak, designed by Aurélien Barby and Hugo Passos respectively, ensure the al fresco dining experience is one of elegant ease. Indoors, Arne Jacobsen’s minimalist, front-upholstered Ant™ chairs supply stylish comfort and a subtle hit of colour, selected in muted shades of green, beige and blue to blend seamlessly with the natural, wood-heavy interior. The Danish designer’s Series 7™ chairs in black-coloured ash are used in intimate nooks, their curved silhouettes offsetting the stringent lines of exposed brickwork and bespoke blue banquettes.

Selected as much for their timeless aesthetics as their comfort and craft, the furniture more than meets the rigorous demands of a fine dining restaurant, and the attentive space “makes regulars feel like family and newcomers feel like regulars.”
