GENERAL INFORMATION

Slate is a hard-wearing sedimentary rock easily split into thin plates. The exclusive black Italian slate used for Fritz Hansen’s Poul Kjærholm tabletops has a unique surface structure and a stunning colour range spanning charcoal to dove grey. CARE & MAINTENANCE

To maintain the natural beauty of slate, we recommend regular cleaning with Stone Wash, included with purchase of a slate product. It offers protection against stains, but only to a degree.

DIRECTIONS

Apply Stone Wash directly from the bottle onto the entire surface, including the edges, in an even layer with a lint-free cloth. Allow to penetrate without drying completely and wipe off any remainder with a wrung-out, lint-free cloth. Repeat as necessary. N.B. Ensure the entire surface area is cleaned for a uniform look.

FOR A LUSTROUS FINISH USE LINSEED OIL

Apply a solution of one part of linseed oil and three parts white spirit to the surface with a clean, dry cloth. Leave for 5-10 minutes before wiping with a clean, dry, lint-free cloth.

CLEANING & STAIN REMOVAL

Blot spills immediately to avoid permanent damage. Acid substances like wine, coffee and fruit juice may cause staining. Treat locally with Stone Wash to avoid staining, although it may not disappear entirely.
