Fritz Hansen reissues the Vico Duo chair in celebration of the 100th anniversary of Vico Magistretti’s birth. Magistretti designed the chair in 1997, sitting among his sketches in Fritz Hansen’s design department. He was keen to collaborate with Fritz Hansen and leverage its expertise and tradition in veneer.
On the 50th anniversary of the design, Fritz Hansen introduces the Lily™ chair in sculptural Walnut veneer with classic chromed legs.
Natural Walnut makes this special anniversary edition both unique and historical. Until now, the Lily chair has never been released with a natural veneer exterior because it is extremely difficult to make the curved armrests without cracking the exterior veneer.

THE ART OF LOUNGING
The latest collaboration between Jaime Hayon and Fritz Hansen has a new identity. Fred™ - meaning ‘peaceful’ in Danish – is a casual nickname and nod to the comfort and good vibes that accompany the chair wherever it’s used. As a collaboration between Scandinavia and Spain, the lounge chair strikes the perfect balance between Danish heritage and Jaime Hayon’s modern, playful aesthetic.
The result of the latest collaboration between Fritz Hansen and Jaime Hayon, the Lounge Chair JH97 strikes the perfect balance between past and future, making lounging a new art form. Fritz Hansen presents Timeless Yet Relevant in Time; an exhibition celebrating the architect and designer Arne Jacobsen's iconic landmark, SAS Royal Hotel, and his collaboration with Fritz Hansen. The story begins 60 years ago, in 1958, and continues until today, where the hotel as well as the furniture created for this purpose are both timeless and relevant in time.
Semi-transparent, sculptural and sensuous characterise the Dogu™ lamp by the versatile artist Michael Geertsen, whose art is inspired by the correlation between sculpture and functionality. The Dogu lamp is quite similar to Geertsen’s art with its organic silhouette and smooth surface. The name "Dogu” is Japanese and refers to the traditional ceramic figures shaped like animals and manlike creatures and more than 10,000 years old. They had no utility value; however, they had great immaterial and emotional function. In the shape of Geertsen’s modern Dogu lamp, these properties are combined in a useful and aesthetic function.
In celebrating the 60th anniversary of some of Arne Jacobsen’s most iconic designs, we have chosen to work with the most exclusive materials, focusing not only on their appearance but also the way they feel, smell and age. In addition to reflecting the luxury inherent in these iconic designs, the new materials also enhance the personality of each chair from head to toe.
The 60th anniversary collection consists of the Egg™ and the Swan™ in Pure leather and the Drop™ in Sera fabric. The celebratory collection also includes three lighting and accessories elements: the classic KAISER idell™ floor lamp in a new finish, a pouf by Cecilie Manz, and a throw in ultrafine merino wool.

One of the leading designers of the American design movement from the mid-20th century, Paul McCobb, now becomes part of the design family of Republic of Fritz Hansen™ with coffee tables from the Planner Group series, designed in 1953. Many designers are inspired by McCobb in their expression, but with this re-launch, Fritz Hansen will now be one of the first companies to present an original McCobb design. His style and aesthetics are just as relevant today as they were then and will thus complement Fritz Hansen’s timeless design universe in the most elegant way. The Planner™ coffee table will be launched in three versions; a square, a circular and a rectangular one. In stores from September 2018.
Jaime Hayon´s latest design for Fritz Hansen is his very first piece of contract furniture. The series consists of a one, two and three-seater sofa with features such as power plugs, USB ports and mounted or separate tables, for a functional but aesthetically pleasing experience in any space, be it for collaboration, concentration or relaxation. “In creating Plenum, the overall objective was to challenge the concept of traditional office furniture and create a feeling of home,” Hayon explains.
We invite you to come by our Republic of Fritz Hansen stand and explore the novelties within lighting, accessories and furniture.
The Pot was first launched by Fritz Hansen in 1960 together with the iconic Egg™, Swan™ and Drop™ chair, all designed by Arne Jacobsen for the SAS Royal hotel. The Pot served as a social focal point in both the Orchid bar and the astonishing Winter Garden, and as a meeting point on each floor next to the elevator. But for some reason the Pot never got the same recognition as the rest of the collection and soon it was taken out of production. That is, until now.
2018 is the year for designer collaborations and we welcome nothing less than six new designers to our family of furniture, lighting and accessories. From America to Japan and back home to Denmark – we have travelled the world to join forces with the brightest designers and we look forward to show you the results.
In the world of Fritz Hansen, we thrive on collaboration. By creating space for collaboration, we can create spaces for emotions that encapsulate a touch of Nordic design, stimulation of the senses and pure well-being.

Ever since Cecilie Manz created the Caravaggio™ lamp in 2005 it has inhabited private homes and illuminated public spaces like no other. With its simple, elegant and recognisable shape it has set the standard as a new classic in lighting design. In this line extension we have kept the shape and merely changed the colour of the shades.
2017 marks the 60th anniversary of Arne Jacobsen’s famous Grand Prix™ Chair – a design that earned its name after winning the prestigious Grand Prix prize at the Triennale in Milan in 1957. Arne Jacobsen designed the Grand Prix Table alongside the chair, but the table only got to meet its audience for a short while due to challenges in production. Now, as a celebration of the Grand Prix Chair, Republic of Fritz Hansen™ is relaunching the Grand Prix Table.

Republic of Fritz Hansen™ releases positive financial statements for 2016 with a turnover of DKK 602m and an 8% growth rate. Profit before tax amounted to DKK 125m, which is an 16% increase compared to 2015, and the best result in the company’s 145-year history. The result should be seen as part of the growth plan aimed at ensuring a turnover of DKK 750m for the company in 2018.
Market development in 2016
The greater part of the realised growth derives from the Danish domestic market, which has experienced an increase of 7%, and from the US and Asia with an increase of 20 and 31%, respectively. In the US, there is an increasing interest in Danish design, particularly in the contract market where the growth derives from a number of large project orders for both new Fritz Hansen designs and classics. One example of this is the cooperation between Bjarke Ingels’ design division, KiBiSi and Fritz Hansen which in May 2016 resulted in the presentation of the VIA57™ chair, designed for the prestigious VIA57 WEST skyscraper in New York, which is BIG architects’ first project in Manhattan.
The new Objects from Republic of Fritz Hansen™ are all about adding an artistic element to your interior and bringing a feeling of inviting cosiness to your favourite relaxation spot. Designed by Jaime Hayon, the new Objects add playful, truly original elements to any living space.
COMBINING NORDIC AESTHETICS AND SOUTHERN PASSION

Demonstrating Hayon’s skill and inventiveness as an artist and a sculptor, the new Objects stand out with their whimsical, playful expression. The characteristically Hayon colours and motifs come together in designs that are sure to make anyone smile, as is always the aim of Hayon’s creative work.
