The Pavilion

Extraordinary design is the theme of our 150th-anniversary celebration, and the Fritz Hansen Pavilion is the centrepiece. Together with Henning Larsen architects, the Pavilion is designed with sustainability in mind: the entire structure is made to be disassembled so that all materials can be reused in the future reconstruction of Fritz Hansen’s headquarters. Our close partnerships with Henning Larsen, Designmuseum Denmark, Bang & Olufsen, Kvadrat, Skagerak and Petersen Tegl helped make the event a rousing success and win the Best Exhibition Award 2022.

The Fritz Hansen Pavilion opened during the 3daysofdesign festival - the most significant annual design festival in Scandinavia, comprising hundreds of events spanning the entire city of Copenhagen.

During the 3daysofdesign festival, the Pavilion hosted exhibitions, talks with leading voices in design and architecture, showcased new products, hosted dining events, a wonderful party, and welcomed thousands of visitors to experience the quality and craftsmanship behind iconic designs and to get a taste of the future of extraordinary design with beautiful new, contemporary releases.

3DAYSOFDESIGN EVENTS

Events at the Pavilion included curated installations, a preview the upcoming Fritz Hansen Collection, and an exciting three-day programme of design talks featuring a selected panel of top industry experts discussing and debating issues to celebrate Danish design and mark 150 years of Fritz Hansen. Compelling topics included approaches to sustainability, revitalising classics vs. new design, the intersection of art, space and design, designing new classics and more.

Collaborations

THE FRITZ HANSEN PAVILION

This summer, we marked our 150th anniversary with an exclusive exhibition at a specially constructed, sustainably designed Pavilion located at Designmuseum Denmark. Joining forces with architecture firm Henning Larsen, the Fritz Hansen Pavilion was designed to be disassembled and all parts reused in the future reconstruction of Fritz Hansen’s headquarters in Allerød. It will remain at Designmuseum Denmark until mid-autumn, serving as a space to house events and workshops.
