GRANITE

The matt polished granite Republic of Fritz Hansen™ use for their tabletops is very durable and has a beautiful and varying colour and structure. This particular type of granite is called Nero Impala and comes from South Africa and is very hardy. Granite consists of minerals, metals, feldspar, gneiss and mica. Sometimes there may be sand holes, glass veins and porosities in the surface of Nero Impala granite. This is completely natural and is a part of its charm.

MAINTENANCE & CARE

The table top is made of mat polished granite of the type Nero Impala. Granite consists of
minerals, metals, feldspar, gneiss and mica, making it a hard-wearing product.
Before you start using the table, it is recommended that you treat it with an impregnating agent for
absorbent materials. The agent must be grease-, water- and oil repellent.
Daily care: Granite endures practically all kinds of cleaning agents. Note, however, that the use
of synthetic detergents dries out the table top. It should therefore be treated with an impregnating
agent for absorbent materials afterwards.

MARBLE

The exquisite, light coloured Italian marble featured on the Paul Kjærholm table PK54™ and coffee table PK61™ originates from the area around the city of Carrara in Tuscany, Northern Italy. The marble with its beautiful classic grain is named Bianca Carrara, after the colour and the city. Marble is relatively hard, homogenous and easy to work with. The surface of the tabletop is steel-rolled and the edges are sandblasted.

MAINTENANCE & CARE

Whip up a soapy solution of 2-3 tablespoons of soap flakes per litre of hot water and apply the
foam to the table top with a stiff brush. Leave the foam to work for about 5 minutes without drying
out to allow the table top to absorb as much soap as possible. Then wipe the table top with a
clean damp cloth. Repeat this treatment regularly as needed.

SLATE

The exclusive black Italian slate used on Poul Kjærholm tables, radiates a natural beauty with a stunning colour range and unique structure. The slate comes from Val Fontanabuona, south of Genova in the Liguria region. The slate quarries are small and has existed since the 19th Century.

MAINTENANCE & CARE

Before the delivery the slate table top has been treated with a soap solution. If you want to
maintain the look obtained by this treatment, we suggest the following treatment of the top: Whip
up a soapy solution of 2-3 tablespoons of soap flakes per litre of hot water and apply the foam to
the table top with a brush. Leave the foam to work for about 5 minutes without drying out to
allow the table top to absorb as much soap as possible. Then wipe the table top with a clean
damp cloth. Repeat this treatment regularly as needed.
