A NEW 'ISM'
"Which is more important - reality or intention, functionality or beauty?"
Bjørn Stegger, director of product development at Fritz Hansen:
”There’s always a balance between functionality and beauty, sometimes it’s very difficult to achieve functionality with beauty and then we have to prioritize, and beauty will always win!
We have found it necessary to go out and discuss with people outside the furniture business - how will people think, live, work in about 5-10 years. Futurologists and trend researchers, people from the fashion business, form the music business and experimental theatre.
If we could stimulate a new ism in design – in stead of modernism or functionalism, something totally new – that would be fantastic."
KASPER SALTO ON WORKING FOR FRITZ HANSEN
"Working for Fritz Hansen is like getting a chance to drive the Nürburgring in one the very best racing cars; however, the demands are skyhigh: You must beat all previous records!
But at the same time there's time and resources to keep on refining and improving the pojects persistently so that they are 100% complete when they're introduced in the market. The artistic ambitions and technical creativity is the fuel in this fabulous company - and I truly appreciate working with Fritz Hansen", says Kasper Salto.
