Fritz Hansen employees make furniture of the highest quality. Therefore, we must be able to attract and keep proficient employees by being an attractive workplace with a strong company culture and managerial competence based on our company values and managerial styles. The employees must be environmentally conscious in their individual processes and be trained in Fritz Hansen's quality and environmental policy.

The management determines the strategic perspectives and targets in Fritz Hansen's strategy plan; they must make sure that the initiatives of the organization are coordinated in order to obtain continuous improvements and implementation of the mission. Action plans with budgets guarantee that the policy can be implemented. Fritz Hansen's quality management and eco-management must comply with the requirements defined in DS/EN ISO 9001:2000 and DS/EN ISO 14001:1996.

Fritz Hansen is environmentally certified under the ISO 14001:1996 as of 1 July 2004.

Fritz Hansen’s varnish processes and filtering system are certified in compliance with section 35 of the Environmental Protection Act. We ensure compliance with approved standards through in-house control measures, by reporting result measurements to the public authorities, and through regulatory control measures as requested and laid down by the public authorities.

This factory has been awarded environmental approval as described in chapter 5 of the Environmental Protection Act regarding listed activities: E9 – Industries involved in coating of wood whose capacity for the consumption of organic solvents exceeds 6 kg per hour. G2 – Heat producing facilities with an installed capacity between 5 and 50 MW.

Control measures/tests/guarantees
More recent products from Fritz Hansen have been developed bearing in mind health and the environment – and produced for long life. The technical quality of Fritz Hansen’s furniture is a guarantee of long life – and hence the least possible environmental impact. All new furniture products are tested as specified by applicable European or national/international standards. In addition, all office chairs are tested as specified by the German institute LGA Nürnberg to obtain the GS mark (Geprüfte Sicherheit - safety performance certificate) by the Danish Technological Institute and other certification institutes. Fritz Hansen is a member of the Association of Danish Furniture Industries. The membership comprises a product liability insurance covering personal injury and property damage due to any product defects.
