Chromium-plating
The legs and frames of the furniture are chromium-plated in closed water systems and any by-products are used again.
The chromium-plating is intended to ensure the frames their long lives.
Cooling
The cooling processes (water) take place in closed cooling circuits.
Fabric/leather
Any textile and leather leftovers are either used again or combusted.
Foam Foam used for filling and upholstery does not contain freon. The foam can be granulated, utilised in a granulated product, or recycled as cushion filling. Alternately, foam and filling can be combusted (incineration facility) and utilised for energy purposes.
Glue
Fritz Hansen uses two types of adhesives:
A water-soluble urea adhesive used for bonding of the veneer 3107, 3100 and VicoDuo shell chairs and the tables.
A water-soluble or solvent-based adhesive for bonding of upholstered chairs, according to type of textile or leather used.
